Day 12 of the 2025 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

Day 12 featured the final installment of Ti West's trilogy, Maxxxine. The movie was okay, a fitting conclusion to the series, but I think it was Mia Goth's performance that rescued this from mediocrity. I'm looking forward to checking out Frankenstein soon.

While the supporting cast was great, they felt underused. Giancarlo Esposito's character was bland, Sophia Thatcher only had a small part but she is always excellent. Kevin Bacon—and it pains me to say this because I'm a huge fan—wasn't good. Michelle Monaghan and Bobby Cannavale were okay, but again, very much in the background.

The plot was fine but some of the gore was way over the top and not necessary for the story. It was entertaining enough but nothing I'll go back and watch again.
