Day 5 of the 2026 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

If you're looking for a fun, twisty, retro-style slasher/mystery, Night of the Reaper checks all the boxes. I really enjoyed this one and did not see the ending coming, always a good thing when you've watched a lot of horror movies. Do you have to suspend disbelief for some of the twists? Sure, but is that any different from any horror movie?

It's hard to talk about why I loved this movie without giving things away. It was clever, the acting was great, and the atmosphere was creepy. Kind of a mashup of Halloween and When a Stranger Calls? There were a couple plot lines they didn't completely explain, but some things don't need a bow on them, right. The majority of the issues I've seen people complaining about were, in fact, foreshadowed very briefly and cleverly.

Go watch it.
