Day 6 of the 2026 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

This was my first viewing of the 2021 reboot and I really liked what they did with it. Instead of the inbred cannibals from the 2003 film, the villains were descendants of an early version of preppers, families who saw the civil war looming and moved into the mountains to create their own society.

The attempt to create a cast full of morally gray characters was fairly successful. Charlotte Vega as the main female lead was terrific, and the multiple twists at the end were great. Highly recommend this one.
