Still Floating: 40 Years of Pennywise contributor Brian Freeman

Most people know Brian from the beautiful limited edition books he puts out for his company, Lividian Publications. I knew Brian before he struck out on his own. He was working at Cemetery Dance when I submitted my novel, Haven. My first correspondence from Brian was on November 16, 2012:

Thanks for the submission for our eBook line. Could you email me the Word

doc as well? Richard Chizmar, our publisher, would like to give this one a

read while the eBook team is considering it. Also, could you let me know

about any previous publications, etc? Thanks!

And the rest, as they say, is history. In addition to producing the finest collectible books on the market, Brian is also a hell of a writer. The Painted Darkness remains one of my favorite novellas. Brian's essay in Still Floating, "Publishing a Stephen King Anniversary Edition," takes the reader behind the scenes in the world of publishing.
