Still Floating: 40 Years of Pennywise contributor Scotty Milder

I've had the pleasure of being a guest on Scotty's podcast as well as hanging out with him at various horror events and conventions. I know he is a big Stephen King fan, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to submit an essay for Still Floating.

In Scotty's wonderful essay, "A Small Town Touched by Doom," he discusses his experiences growing up in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Much like Derry, Los Alamos sounds like a very weird place...minus the cosmic child-eating clown, of course.

Scotty's bio:

Scotty Milder is a writer, filmmaker, and film educator living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He received his MFA in Screenwriting from Boston University, and his award-winning short films have screened at festivals all over the world, including Cinequest, the Dead By Dawn Festival of Horror, HollyShorts, and the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon. His independent feature film "Dead Billy" is available to stream on Amazon Prime and Google Play.

He has published more than 50 short stories. His fiction has appeared in magazines like Dark Matter Magazine, Cosmic Horror Monthly, and Dark Moon Digest, as well as anthologies from Dark Moon Books, Dark Peninsula Press, Sentinel Creatives, Undertaker Books, Dark Ink Books, and others.

He teaches screenwriting and film production at Santa Fe Community College and the University of New Mexico. He hosts the "Horror from the High Desert" podcast and co-hosts "The Weirdest Thing" history podcast with actor/theatre artist Amelia Ampuero.
