When I'm on a bad run of movies I like to go back to some old school favorites. It's like comfort food for me. John Carpenter's 1980 classic, The Fog, is one of those.
Forty-four years later, this one still holds up. The presence of the fog, despite the outdated special effects, is creepy as hell. I love it.
Scarier than the leprous ghosts, however, is the idea of 45-year-old Tom Atkins hooking up with 22-year-old Jamie Lee Curtis. Despite that interesting casting choice, the movie remains a horror classic. It's an A+, streaming on Prime.
