Day 12 of the 2026 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

I don't think I've ever ventured this deep in the Halloween series before, and now I know why. It's a shame how far the franchise fell in the nineties. The only claim to fame is that it's Paul Rudd's first movie. And yes, he looks exactly the same as he does today.

There is the requisite 'one hand to the throat, lift the person off the ground and stick them to the wall' kill within the first ten minutes. That was cool in 1978. Almost twenty years later and copied dozens of times, not so much. Sadly, there is no 'abs of steel' moment when Michael, thought to be dead, sits bolt upright. That's because they don't even bother to kill him in this one.

They even dragged Donald Pleasance off his deathbed to reprise the Sam Loomis role, but the writing was so awful even he couldn't save the film.
