Day 13 of the 2026 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

Always fun to take a trip to Antonio Bay and Spivey Point. The Fog is on my list of October must-watches along with a few others (coming later in the month). I'll often pick up something new on a rewatch regardless of how many times I've seen a film. That happened tonight. Despite the pirate-looking ghost-lepers using meat hooks and swords for their kills, there's not a single drop of blood shown on-screen. How did I miss that? The closest thing to gore is the wormy face of one of the lepers near the end of the film.
The glowing fog remains one of the creepiest special effects out there, especially given that the movie was made in 1980. The setting is spectacular, particularly the Point Reyes Lighthouse. I need to get out there next year to tour it. Parts of the movie were filmed in Bodega Bay (town and coastal backdrops) which makes me want to revisit another classic, The Birds.
