Day 27 of the 2025 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

Note to self: always check the Rotten Tomatoes score. This one had a whopping...wait for it...5%.

I don't know where to begin breaking this movie down. The premise is that Gacy moves into a neighborhood and the boy across the street, Billy, becomes suspicious of him. The acting was abysmal with the exception of the guy who played Gacy. He had a great cackle.

The actor who played Billy's father was terrible, he acted like an extra from a Viagra commercial trying to look virile, but not too virile. And Billy's mom...all I remember about her is the absolute mess her lipstick was through the entire movie.

The writing was nonsensical. It's like they filmed a bunch of scenes, shuffled them all around, threw half of them away, and just called it done. They show Gacy moving into the house with his mother, then she's never seen or mentioned again. Billy tells his friends there's something weird about Gacy but leaves out the fact that that he witnessed Gacy kill someone. Then in the very next scene, he's telling different friends he did see the murder. At that point Gacy tries to run them all over...but that is never mentioned again either.

After Billy finds the crawlspace with the bodies, his father grabs his gun and announces he's taking the law into his own hands. Gacy pays a visit, borrows a bottle of wine, and the father forgets all about him being a murderer. He tells Billy to stop being a baby and to go to bed. Billy's mom says she's never seen Mr. Gacy do anything illegal, but in the next breath says she knows he's up to something. Inexplicably, the police call Billy's dad in the middle of the night to say they've connected Gacy to a murder and not to leave the house...because that's what cops do. The finale happens over the next several hours but the cops never make an appearance.

Finally, the special effects... The bones Billy finds in the crawlspace are Dollar Store plastic, and two of the dead bodies' eyes move in the scene. Gacy stabs one victim—who is wearing a white t-shirt—in the back. Not a drop of blood is shown on either the shirt or the knife Gacy pulls out.

In short, please don't watch this mess. I've taken one for the team.
