I Trapped the Devil (2018) - Day 17 of the 2024 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

I had a feeling going in that this would be one of those movies that left me shaking my head. Or scratching my head trying to figure out what the hell just happened. And I was right.

Even at just eighty-three minutes, this one felt endless. Not a slow burn, but an eternal warming. Then, of course, the end made no sense whatsoever. The premise was so good, but the execution was abysmal.

The movie tried too hard to be "atmospheric" with its blurred Christmas lights and overdone eerie/ominous music. But it was the dialog that made it hard to watch. Disjointed, with every conversation consisting of unfinished sentences and half thoughts.

The premise is great and I had very high hopes, but this one failed for me. I'm giving it a D and wishing I could get my eighty-three minutes back. Streaming on Shudder.
