Day 8 of the 2026 Halloween Horror Movie Marathon

This wasn't my first time watching Session 9 but I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. The acting is solid and the premise is certainly believable. The film keeps you guessing as three of the main characters are potentially under the influence of Simon.
What makes this one stand out for me is the setting. Danvers State Hospital had been called "the most haunted building in America" prior to its demolition in 2007. The exteriors scenes are spectacular, using light and shadow to make the emormous building spooky even in bright sunshine. But it's the interior scenes that highlight how truly creepy the building was.
I've explored several abandoned hospitals, prisons, and asylums, but never had the opportunity to get to Danvers. This one is worth watching just for the footage of the infamous hospital.
