Still Floating: 40 Years of Pennywise

Coming September 15th, exactly 40 years to the day of the original novel's debut: Still Floating: 40 Years of Pennywise.

The project was officially announced Wednesday during a Facebook Live event hosted by SK Tours and 2 Feet Brewing. You can watch the video HERE.

Still Floating: 40 Years of Pennywise is a collection of essays and interviews analyzing King's "final exam on horror" and the impact the novel has had on writers, the horror genre, and pop culture. The table of contents is amazing—announcements will be made right here over the next few weeks—but it includes authors, artists, publishers, and scholars. The essays vary between in-depth analysis of different components of the book and personal essays reflecting on its influence. The folks at Ginger Nuts of Horror will be doing a cover reveal next month once the preorder link is set up. The book will be available in a special edition hardcover, paperback, and ebook. The special edition hardcover will only be available at in-person events or by ordering directly from my website.

The official launch party will be Friday, September 18th in Derry (Bangor), Maine! There will be King related events going on Saturday and Sunday to celebrate King's birthday, and I'll have a booth all weekend to sign books. Details HERE. Some of the contributors will be making the trek as well, so it will be a great chance to collect lots of signatures and meet the fine writers involved.

This project actually began several years ago. My original plan was to do a 35th anniversary book but I couldn't pull it together in time, so I decided to wait for the 40th. And here we are!

I'm hoping for a huge crowd in Bangor—who knows, maybe Stephen King will make an appearance! I hope you can join us. If not, I'll also be attending KingCon in New Jersey in October, as well as many other events. Keep an eye on my newsletter for schedule updates.
